Backpacking with a Caribee Backpack

Caribee 60L Lynx (1997) Backpack

My name is Andrea,
I'm an Aussie living in London and in 1997 I bought your Lynx 60L backpack just before I headed off to Japan. Since then my Caribee and I have visited 52 countries and up until recently she was in awesome condition (see photo 02294 and 02295 attached). Although, sadly, after being a trouper through Jordan and Syria with some touch and go buckle moments, she seemed rather stuck after Exit festival in Serbia before I lost the attached daypack to a horrific point-of-no-return zipper break in the summer of 2010 in Montenegro *heads bowed for a moment's silence*, overall the Caribee has been a beyond spectacular investment. My father is of course pleased as he had to fork out for it back in 97 while I was a poor student, having outlasted 2 of his marriages and 4 of my boyfriends he finally stopped moaning about the cost of "something that doesn't even have bloody wheels" around 2005.

Granted, I am going to take a little credit for her good condition, while it's the daypack that would suffer most during travel she's been spritzed clean after every intrepid journey, sprayed to death after bringing back some little friends from Togo, and kept mostly un-scuffed thanks to a simple wet cloth and where possible wrapping her for travel, especially to some of the, ahem, dodgier countries like that time I arrive in Libya to find I had been relieved of my travel hairdryer, clock, flashlight, swiss army knife, nikes and disturbingly all of my underwear (it did become clear as to why when I had to go and buy more). My awesome backpack has gone overboard twice (once in Egypt, totally gross), fallen off the front of a bus in Morocco and the back of one in Thailand, provided a pillow for 4 random children and a cat in Pavlodar (Kazakhstan) on a 10 hour airport stint, and been accidentally left outside the igloo overnight in Ivalo up in the Arctic circle (she was a little stiff for a while) but credit whre credit is due, your product has weathered the storm of my ownership extremely well

Cheers, Andrea

PS. Again, seriously great bag, thanks!
