Our History

Clipper International was established in 1956.

The company soon recognised the vast potential of  the outdoor industry, and changed itÅs focus in 1982 to meet the growing outdoor consumer trends. This resulted in the birth of the now famous Australian outdoor and urban brand, Caribee.

Continual growth and a huge market following has allowed Clipper International to continually develop and expand it’s office and warehouse facilities. Now located just 3km from both the Sydney CBD and the international airport, our modern 6,000 square meter office/warehouse complex boasts the latest in technology to ensure all orders and stock are processed efficiently and effectively.

Our continued expansion has seen the opening of our Chinese headquarters based in the city of Yangzhou, in the Jiangsu Province of China. This opening has enabled Clipper International to better service our international clients.

Our Name

Caribee’s name is derived from a South American piranha like species know scientifically as the Pygocentrus nattereri or Caribe.

Its compact size masks the fact that it is a dominant and resilient species in its environment. A creature to be taken seriously.
